Events of note, lists of things, thoughts.
I’ve spent most of my career bringing ideas to life, through a healthy need to explore coupled with a strategic leaning. Some of my highlights include kickstarting PechaKucha Night in Durban, successfully holding a parallel event at COP17 and convincing the 30-years’ long editor of an architectural journal to hand me the reins for a maverick edition.
Other projects have included the #SABreweryWalk, communications strategy for Durban’s first mobile chicken shop, and getting corporate events to trend on Twitter. Along the way I’ve also found my way around art, architecture and design in South Africa through various writing assignments for publications such as Visi and earthworks.
I later made my way into marketing and communications, developing my skills in the niche of online content marketing, with a particular focus on social media.
In January 2016 I started at Vodacom, developing internal communications and reporting in Enterprise Technology. A lot of my time is spent engaging with people from across the department, coordinating reports and developing new ways to communicate what we do, how we’re doing, and what exactly is going on in this large and rather complex place. WANs, LANs, MPLS VPNs and the NBIOT are now some of my everyday acronyms. Who woulda thunk.
